{"id":1140,"date":"2013-06-24T12:51:07","date_gmt":"2013-06-24T16:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shaviro.com\/Blog\/?p=1140"},"modified":"2013-06-24T12:51:07","modified_gmt":"2013-06-24T16:51:07","slug":"accelerationism-discussion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shaviro.com\/Blog\/?p=1140","title":{"rendered":"Accelerationism discussion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-flux.com\/issues\/46-june-2013\/\">latest issue <\/a>of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-flux.com\/journals\/\">e-flux online journal<\/a> is entirely devoted to the question of accelerationism.<\/p>\n<p>A lot has been said about this already, most notably:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/leniency.blogspot.com\/2008\/10\/accelerationism.html\">Ben Noys&#8217; original introduction<\/a> of the term<\/li>\n<li>My own <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lafuriaumana.it\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=392:excerpt-from-qpost-cinematic-affectq-ii&amp;catid=59:la-furia-umana-nd-10-autumn-2011&amp;Itemid=61\">previous discussion<\/a> of accelerationism (excerpted from my book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/1846944317\/dhalgrenstevensh\">Post-Cinematic Affect<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>The recent <a href=\"http:\/\/criticallegalthinking.com\/2013\/05\/14\/accelerate-manifesto-for-an-accelerationist-politics\/\">Manifesto<\/a> by&nbsp;Alex Williams and Nick Srnicek<\/li>\n<li>McKenzie Wark&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/speculativeheresy.wordpress.com\/2013\/05\/14\/celerity-a-critique-of-the-manifesto-for-an-accelerationist-politics\/\">response<\/a> to the Manifesto.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But the new issue of e-flux contains 11 articles on accelerationism, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-flux.com\/journal\/accelerationist-aesthetics-necessary-inefficiency-in-times-of-real-subsumption\/\">an extremely sour-minded article of mine<\/a>.
